Monique Williams
No matter where Monique goes, she always takes the sunny side of things with her. Maybe that’s why she was willing to trade in the heat of sunny south Florida for the laidback Carolina happenings of Myrtle Beach, SC! And she certainly adds more spice to the flavor of the Carolina coast!
When not busy spreading the sunshine everywhere, Monique loves spending time with family and friends. Oh, and then there’s her love for travel and, of course, shopping! Her favorite quote, “It doesn’t cost anything to dream but it costs everything not too.”
Her dream of a career in broadcasting began at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton where she ventured into radio and television. Before graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia Journalism, she landed her first television job as a News Writer for the WSVN’s (FOX) Today in Miami. After two years, radio reached out for her and she used her vocals as a Traffic/News Reporter for several radio and news stations in Miami. Monique’s love for news brought her back to the news room as an Associate Producer at WPEC (CBS) in West Palm Beach. Then in 2007, a 700 mile move to Myrtle Beach landed her a position as a News Producer for WBTW-TV13 (CBS). Monique states, “I’d hate to think of where I’d be or what I’d be doing had I not followed what undoubtedly is a natural career path. With hard work and dedication I’ve been able to pursue and grow in one of the most exciting careers imaginable. “
Upon joining the WDAI-FM on-air staff in 2009, Monique immediately became active in the community by visiting schools, hosting special community events and speaking to teens and young women about life issues that concern them.
“Being a Mid-day air radio personality on “The Big Station” WDAI-FM, certainly has its perks (meeting and talking with artists, celebrities and the fun-loving people of the community) but the one passion I want to be known for is finding ways to inspire young females to make the most out the positive opportunities that life has to offer. I want to model for them an example that shows hard-work and determination does pay off!”
